The third-generation Tucson was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show on 3 March 2015 as a 2016 model year car, and from this generation Hyundai dropped the ix35 nameplate and reverted to Tucson globally. The 2018 to 2020 cars are the facelift, first shown at the 2018 New York International Auto Show for the 2019 model year, with a restyled grille, bonnet and tailgate, new LED headlights and a revised interior with repositioned air vents and a high-mounted display. The car sits on an all-new platform, 65 mm longer and 30 mm wider than its predecessor, and was built in South Korea, the Czech Republic, China, Taiwan, Brazil, India, Malaysia, Russia, Vietnam, Algeria and Pakistan.
