The Mercedes-Benz Vito is a mid-size van launched in 1996 as the front-wheel-drive W638, replaced in 2004 by the rear-wheel-drive W639 and again in 2014 by the current W447, which is offered in compact, long and extra-long wheelbases. Passenger versions have been sold under several names over the years, including the V-Klasse, the Viano on the W639, the V-Class on the W447, the Australian-market Valente introduced in 2012, and the Westfalia-converted Marco Polo campervan. Current W447 engines include a 2.0 L turbo petrol and 1.6 L, 1.7 L, 2.0 L and 2.2 L turbo diesels with rear-wheel drive or optional 4MATIC all-wheel drive, alongside the front-wheel-drive electric eVito with 60 kWh or 90 kWh batteries and the EQV with a 100 kWh battery and 350 km WLTP range.
